Spring Blossoms…Ancient Woodbridge & lunch at the Four Horseshoes

Wednesday 15^th April 2026

Today we travel to the pretty village of Thornham Magna where we visit, reputedly, the oldest pub in Suffolk, the Four Horseshoes; a family run 12^th Century thatched Inn, as lovely on the inside, as it is strikingly beautiful on the outside. After lunch, we make our way, via a scenic route, to the ancient market town of Woodbridge, attractively located on the Deben Estuary. Once a busy seaport, Woodbridge is considered one of East Suffolk’s most desirable locations (includes 2-course meal, tea/coffee).

MAIN COURSE:

Chicken, Ham & Leek Puff Pastry Pie - with chunky chips and garden peas.

Bangers & Mash - with homemade onion rings, gravy and veggies.

Smoked Salmon & Prawn mixed salad - with garlic bread.

Fish & Chips - fresh haddock, chunky chips and mushy peas.

(V / VGN) Sweet Potato, Red Pepper & Butterbean Stew - served with rice, salad and crispy onions.

DESSERT:

Homemade Chocolate Brownie - with vanilla ice cream and slated caramel sauce.

Horseshoe Mess - mixed berries, crushed meringue, fresh cream, berry coulis & vanilla ice cream.

Traditional Jam Sponge - served warm with plenty of custard.

Lemon Crunch - lemon cream set upon a ginger biscuit base served with vanilla ice cream & berry coulis.

Cheddar & Biscuits - simply cheddar cheese, Jacob's crackers and onion chutney.
